Libby C - I watched a special on Channel 8 about Dubai and its crazy architecture. Looks pretty cool but I think that IS all they have to offer! That's crazy that they offer a tour in the middle of the night!

Emily Edwards - Your Heart's Desire - When I saw that first photo, I was like, "OooooK...? That's a nice, uh, picture of, uh con-struc-tion, or some-thing...??" So, when I read your comments I started laughing out loud! I can't believe that was one of the stops on the tour! Too funny! You must have all been hoping that the stops got better from there... LOL! Oh, and that fish tank - super cool!

Brittany - AMAZING pictures! :) what an experience! Its hard to believe how behind some places are in archtitecture compared to us here in the US. It really made me appreciate what we have and not take anything for granted. Actually probably your whole trip there would be that way. I really look forward to reading your blog about the trip. "if it were me, after all that traveling, I might have just gone to the hotel to sleep." But you were right to see what you could! amy t schubert - from what I understand about Dubai, tourists pretty much only go there for the shopping .... your taxi driver was maybe more surprised (that you weren't all that interested) than you were!

Annemarie - My Dad just got back for a few weeks from spending over a month in Dubai. He's headed back there in a few weeks for another month. I recognized all your spots from his pics from the travels! :) How wonderful that you were able to get out and see a little bit of it while you were there. I lived in the middle east for a while growing up, and I never got used to that weather!!

I think based on what my husband (who travels through Dubai often) has told me you DID see all of the culture and sight-seeing spots Dubai has to offer except maybe for the in-doors skiing. Tira J - Yay! I have been waiting for you to start posting the images from your trip. Yes, Dubai is known for their hotels and shopping. We have wonderful family friends who lived in Saudi Arabia for several years and that is all they would talk about. The funny thing is that they retired to Anthem, AZ! So, when we make our next trip to AZ, we hope to see you and our friends! Your pictures are amazing!!!! Welcome home.
